Embrace

I started this painting August 2021 and finished it August 2023. Starting out on the floor of my studio using un-stretched canvas to give me complete freedom, the edge of a stretched canvas can give a feeling of a boundary or restriction. I allowed myself to have no rules and embrace every single mark and brushstroke. This piece has acrylic paint, collage canvas, collage paper, spray paint, pencil and oil/chalk pastel. I love to create layers and let the canvas build over time. I want the viewer to experience the painting over and over again, always seeing something new, time after time. Every stage from the first brushstroke to the last was a wonderful and soulful experience. I listen to my intuition and completely let go as the painting comes to life through my Spirit and creative energy.
